Stargate Pictures - Raytraced

Here are some of the "Stargate"-related pictures I created using The Persistence Of Vision Raytracer (POV-Ray v3.5).

POV, 1024x768
Dots of light escaping a Stargate. I got the idea from the "Prodigy" episode; however the "enitities" seen there are scared off by the electromagnetic energy field around the active Gate and could not pass it.

POV, 1024x768
A plain event horizon with nothing around it. Good as a neutral background picture.

POV, 1024x1024
A Stargate made of glass, backdropped against a large event horizon. This doesn't match the plot, but it looks nice.

POV, 1024x768
This image is intended to be used as a desktop background ("Wallpaper"), making your PC look like the SGC gate control room computers. The blank areas at the left hand side leave room for some desktop icons (set "Display Properties" -> "Color Scheme" to use a symbol distance of 72px horizontal and 45px vertical for best results). - By the way, the address dialed is that of the "Entity"'s home world (from the episode when Sam gets infected by an alien "computer program").

POV, 1200x800
An active Stargate next to the symbol "", which represents the earth (it resembles a pyramid with a rising sun). The atmospheric photograph on the background wall was taken from the NASA Human Spaceflight ISS gallery. I originally rendered this image at a resolution of 6000x4000 to have it printed as a poster.
